For men, it is necessary to shave daily. If wet shaving is your personal preference it should not be done right after eating. This is common as many men enjoy shaving right after breakfast in the morning. It should not be done after drinking either, especially after drinking alcohol, as it will cause the same problem as eating before shaving.

After eating, digestion causes the heart to work harder. When the heart is pumping harder or faster it leads to increased circulation in our body’s. This increase in blood flow leads to a higher risk of injury when shaving due to the skin close to the underlying veins.

When wet shaving the beard, the hair should be completely wet. By having the beard well saturated the foam will be thicker from the shaving cream. It is important to have the foam thick as this will make the hair much easier to cut.

If dry shaving is your personal preference it should be done right after taking a shower, it is important to do it within 15 minutes of getting out. The moisture from the shower will soften the hair, and the razor will cut the hair much more smoothly creating a more pleasant shave.
