man_modelTo determine the best anti-aging diet, one must first understand the aging process. Aging is caused by the oxidation of cells. When you are younger, your body replenishes these oxidized cells, therefore, allowing your to keep your youthful look. However, as you begin to age, your body naturally decreases the replenishment of lost or damaged cells. This is when the aging process begins to become more noticeable.

Therefore, to combat the signs of aging, it must be done on a cellular level. Keeping your body healthy so it can properly repair itself comes from exercise, proper diet, and a proactive sun care. Of these, however, the proper diet seems to be the most effective.

Since the goal behind an anti-aging diet is to help lessen the oxidation of cells, one should focus their diet plans around anti-oxidant foods. Some of the most anti-oxidant rich foods are deep red fruits. Pomegranates, acai berries, strawberries, cherries, and red grapes are the most popularized of the anti-oxidant family. While it is possible to find supplements containing some of these fruits, your body will absorb them better when they are eaten as close to the natural fruit as possible.

Also, when planning an anti-aging diet, be sure that the majority of your diet adheres to clean eating habits. Clean eating can basically be surmised as eating only natural, God-given foods. Think fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, unsalted nuts, and meat without any preservatives.

Preservatives are loaded with artificial substances that our bodies were not intended to process. While there may not be any studies suggesting that the preservatives are necessary bad for you, per say, the fact that they are unnatural does not lend them any credibility, either.

Along with cutting preservatives out of your diet, avoid foods that contain salt as much as possible. Often, if you crave salty foods, you can replace the desire by eating meat that as a naturally robust flavor. This is not to say that jumping on the all-meat bandwagon is a great anti-aging diet, but rather this is meant merely as a suggestion to help wean yourself off of salt, if it is a regular staple in your kitchen.

The reason you want to avoid salt is because of its inflammation causing attributes. Inflammation has been linked to all sorts of diseases, and more studies are being conducted on it daily. Keeping your body flushed out of inflammation-causing foods will help your skin retain its natural softness.

Finally, for a fully anti-aging diet do not underestimate the importance of water. Water helps your body digest your food properly, and helps keep your skin moisturized. Skin moisturized naturally, from the inside, helps alleviate and prevent wrinkles.
