When you exercise on a regular basis it is important to look after your joints to prevent any long term damage occurring. When we talk about joints, we mean mainly your knees, elbows and hips, which have the most wear and tear on a daily basis.

ompound that reduces friction between the joints becomes worn down and damaged after excessive use. High impact sports like running, downhill skiing and tennis are notoriously damaging on the joints.

Compounds like fish oil, omega 3’s (which are normally found in oily fish such as mackerel) and glucosamine are best for improving the joints. Glucosamine for example is a natural compound which is found in the joint cartilage and helps to protect the bone in your joints from rubbing together.
You can also help preserve your joints during exercise by always wearing the correct equipment and following recommended training practices. Any gym work with weights or strenuous repetitive sports, such as running should always be done with the correct equipment. By following recommended guidelines, you can help to prolong the life of your joints.
