Erectile Dysfunction As A Warning Sign

Erectile dysfunction (ED) can occur as a warning sign up to three years before general cardiovascular complaints. This is due to a poor blood supply affected by calcification at an early stage. The delicate vascular system of the penis reflects the overall state of the blood vessels resistance.

These linkages, however, do not take concerns into consideration. Most men do like to acknowledge their weaknesses. However, erectile dysfunction can lead to hypertension, elevated cholesterol, diabetes, or other metabolic disorders. These linkages should be considered because it is not only about the erectile dysfunction, but your entire state of health as well. In many cases, a small change in one’s lifestyle can bring a large improvement. Furthermore, there are successful drug treatments available.

Many studies clearly demonstrate that a deficiency of the sex hormone (testosterone) is not only responsible for ED, but also many other conditions. It can decrease physical and mental capacity, and can improve the risk of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Therefore, it is important to have the testosterone levels and a urological examination before beginning treatment. Doctors will review your sexual history and perform laboratory tests with special regards to diabetes, kidney values, and metabolic values.

Experts warn against self-treatment with hormonal agents. An extremely high dose of hormones in healthy men may lead to sterility. Testosterone also acts on the brain and can be used to trigger aggression. High doses also damage the liver. Taking precautions is very important because hormones can be the reason for testosterone levels falling.

In many cases, changing one’s lifestyle can be enough to regain control over this sexual condition. Alcohol, smoking, and obesity are three of the top risks for sexual complications. Physical activity, endurance sports, and a healthy diet can increase the testosterone production. These small improvements may be the key to reclaiming your sexual lifestyle.
